COCOCLUB Sailing and snorkeling excursion
Playa Pilar and Media Luna

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~ These few photos were taken during our full day excursion of sailing and snorkeling on the catamaran COCOCLUB.
On a bright sunny and hot Wednesday morning, we were picked up by a Cubanacan bus at 8:15 am in front of our hotel.  The air-conditioned comfortable bus drove us to Cayo Coco, past all the resorts, and to the small port "Puerto Casasa", where we embarked the Cococlub with 30 other passengers.
This new, spacious and beautiful sailing catamaran provided ample room for all of us, with a bar at one end, a small kitchen at the other and a small but very clean and comfortable bathroom.
The place was immaculate and extremely well kept by the crew of 3 members:  The captain, the chef / sailor expert and the bartender.   All very friendly and jovial, they provided us with excellent service all day and were extremely efficient in keeping the place tidy and clean!
An open bar and a seafood lunch ( served on real dishes) were provided on this trip.
We sailed along the Cuban archipelago toward Cayo Paredon Grande.
~ After sailing for awhile, we stopped at one point for an hour of snorkeling before continuing our trip, sailing along Cayo Paredon Grande. ~
~ Here we stopped for more than an hour, to have lunch and enjoy a swim and a short walk on the deserted beach.   ~
Our lunch consisted (per person) of half of a large lobster tail, lots of shrimp, green string beans and a nice white rice served with a delicious sweet'n sour tomato/shrimp sauce (whole shrimp included).  There was enough food to allow us second servings!  We also had a yummy dessert!
Overall, the food was very good although the lobster tails were slightly overdone.
(The lobster had obviously been cooked early in the morning and was kept warm in the boat's oven until lunch time).
~ AFTER LUNCH, we started heading back to Puerto Casasa, but stopped one more time for a 'very short' hour of snorkeling.  This is when we took the following photos, with our disposable FUJI underwater camera. ~
The photo below shows how shallow the coral reef was in some places.  At times, we had to be very careful not to get scratched.
Here I tried unsuccessfully to take a photo of the  needle fish swimming right at the surface of the water.
Overall, this trip was most enjoyable, so peaceful and relaxing!
It was great spending the day on the ocean and we truly enjoyed the lovely sailing ride.   The boat wasn't crowded, and the Cuban staff was so pleasant!
Only one comment here is that we found the time allotted to snorkeling a little short.
